Vermont Tech Holds 2012/13 End of Year Bash
Student-Athletes Sponsor Slip-n-Slide
Randolph Center, VT - On Saturday, April 27th the Student Events Board, Student Council and Student Athlete Advisory Committee of Vermont Tech sponsored the First Annual End of Year Bash.
The event festivities included a Bounce House, Dunk Tank, Slip n'Slide, Water Pong, Basketball, Volleyball, Back To Reality Live Band, and Fireworks. When the band was not playing, music was provided by WVTC.
The athletes of VTC pitched in with the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, better known as SAAC, sponsoring the Slip-n-Slide. In the photo to the right (c/o Tim Schein Photography), one can see that Josh Lindsey, the 2012/13 SAAC President, was the first to test out the slide that included a small ramp that landed him in a kiddie pool.
Throughout the week, there was a contest to see which VTC staff member would be the one in the Dunk Tank. President Conroy won the honor, taking the victory by a landslide, as seen in the photo (c/o Tim Schein Photography). Of the experience, Conroy was quoted as saying, "speaking personally I want to thank the committee for heating the water in the dunk tank." Although President Conroy was the official winner of the Dunk Contest, other members of Student Affairs, including Dean Braun, volunteered to take their turn in the tank.

The day concluded with a fireworks display held in the lower parking lot of SHAPE. The event was extremely successful, and the hope is the event will become a yearly tradition on the Vermont Tech campus.
