Kevin Carr wins national honor
Junior guard Kevin Carr was named the USCAA National Player of the Week for his outstanding play last week. The Yankee Small College Conference also named Carr its Player of the Week. It is the second time Carr has been earned the YSCC Player of the Week honor this season.
Kevin led Vermont Tech to three victories this past week against in-state rival Lyndon State College and YSCC rivals Southern Maine CC and Central Maine CC. Kevin scored a total of 86 points in the three contests for an average of 28.6. He hit 31-51 from the floor (60%); 10-18 from beyond the arc (55%); and 14-18 from the line (77.7%). Kevin also had 15 assists (5apg) and 10 steals (3.3 spg) in the three games.
“Kevin is a complete player,” praises Coach John Dyer. “What most people don’t realize is that, in addition to being one of the best scorers in the country, he is also our best defender. He does everything we ask of him and more. He’s playing at an All American pace, that is for sure.”
