Cross Country has strong performance at Albany meet
On Saturday October 1, Vermont Tech's cross country team competed at the Albany College of Pharmacy Panther invitational.
The team was led by Trevor Kipp who kept up with DII college top runners from Sage College. Trevor finished second in the 5 mile race and was followed by teammates Oskar Lehnartz 14th, Rio Coursen 15th. Our new addition to the team Connor Mazzarella was 22nd, followed by Alexander Yaggy 27th and Eric Edlund finishing 30th.
Vermont Tech men's team has a roster of 7 freshman runners. When asked how he felt about the meet and upcoming meets, Coach Dunkle said "This was a great meet for the team. Everyone ran well. There was a snafu with course marshalling so the top 6 runners ran with adjuated finishing times, but it seemed that Trevor was well on pace to set a new Vermont Tech all time fastest 8K run. We have some new additions to the team that will help up compete well at Tufts on the 15th and make a play for Conference."
The YSCC Conference meet will be held at the Vermont Tech Campus on October 29th. Two of the conference teams Vermont Tech will be competing against were at the Panther Invitational and we finished ahead of them. Overall, coach stated "It was a good day".
