Knights to host Cross Country Race: Maple Syrup Challenge
The Knights Cross Country team will be hosting the 13th Annual Maple Syrup Challenge on Saturday, September 9th starting at noon, following the High School races being held on our home course.
In an interview with coach Dunkle, he expressed optimism about the size and strength of the men's team. This year we have 4 returning runners who spent the summer training, including last year's All-American Trevor Kipp. We have also added 5 new runners to the roster. We started the season off training in our favorite training locations and getting to know each other as team members, which included a trip to Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard for our annual team camp. After looking at last weekend's results we feel that the Vermont State Randolph team has the fastest runners and biggest depth of any of the other University schools. This weekend will show how we look overall as a team. The team is also excited to welcome back Kevin Kressock, a veteran team runner and now assistant coach. Kevin is from Randolph Vermont.
This year's race will also double as the Vermont Collegiate State meet, with all teams from Vermont competing for bragging rights, and a donation to the winning team's local charity of choice.
