Men's Soccer honored Three Players at the Vermont Tech Convocation

Randolph Center, VT- On Thursday April 15, 2016 10 Student-Athletes were honored with 22 Academic and athletic awards at the Seventh Annual Convocation Ceremony held in Judd Hall.

Senior Joaquin Currier-Cuberio (Danville, VT) picked of five awards joining two National Honors Societies Phi Theta Kappa and Tau Alpha Pi. For the third year in a row Currier-Cuberio was awarded the Male Scholar Athlete of the Year which is presented to the male athlete who holds the highest GPA amongst varsity sports participants and was named to the USCAA Academic All-American. Currier-Cuberio also was awarded the Society of Manufacturing Engineers for Outstanding Academic Excellence, Professionalism, Proficiency, and Dedication in the Electromechanical Engineering Technology program. Currier-Cuberio will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Electromechanical Engineering Technology, he also holds an Associate of Applied Science in Automotive Technology.

Senior Darian Calverley (Attleboro, MA) joined teammate Currier-Cuberio in the National Honors Society Tau Alpha Pi. Calverley will graduate this spring with an Architectural Engineering Technology.

Freshman Phillip Hepburn (Milton, VT) picked up three athletic awards with one being Vermont Tech Male Athlete of the Year. This is presented to the athlete making the greatest contribution to their team and is evaluated in the following categories: overall excellence in performance, leadership and sportsmanship. Hepburn is the first male soccer player to win this award as well as being the first male soccer player to be named to the USCAA All-American Honorable Mention team. Hepburn was also recognized for his accomplishment on making the YSCC All-Conference Team.
