CALVIN'S DOMINANCE , J-D ANDERSON'S CAREER NIGHT LIFTS KNIGHTS PAST SEAWOLVES 78-75
J-D Anderson's six 3 pointers boost Randolph
SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — Behind a career-high performance from Shandon J-D Anderson, the Vermont State University Randolph Knights earned a hard-fought 78–75 road victory over Southern Maine Community College on Thursday night at The HUB.
J-D Anderson delivered the best scoring night of his collegiate career, pouring in 25 points while knocking down six three-pointers, providing a spark that carried the Knights through a tightly contested second half. His shooting from the perimeter proved to be the difference as VTSU Randolph pulled away late.
Jaylon Calvin added a strong all-around performance with 25 points and 15 rebounds, dominating the paint and controlling the glass.
The Knights trailed at halftime but responded with an efficient offensive showing after the break, shooting nearly 49 percent in the second half and connecting on timely shots when it mattered most. Anderson's long-range shooting opened the floor, allowing the Knights to find rhythm offensively.
Defensively, VTSU Randolph came up with key stops down the stretch to hold off a late Southern Maine push. The Knights finished with 38 total rebounds and forced timely turnovers in the final minutes to seal the win.
The victory improves the Knights to 9–2 overall and 3–0 in conference play, continuing their strong start to the season and building momentum as league play continues.
