Shaw gets his 1000th career point
Shaw makes his mark at VTC
Randolph, VT: Coming into Saturday, Jeremiah Shaw needed 27 points to hit his 1000th career point at Vermont Tech. Shaw only needed 12 minutes to surpass that landmark in Unity, Maine. The Powder Springs, Ga native scored a layup with just over 8 minutes to go in the first half. Coach Jamal Hughes immediately called a timeout to stop the game, so his teammates could honor him.
"I couldn't be more proud." Hughes said. " A lot of people aren't aware of the obstacles this guy has faced. Starting with him being denied the chance to play high school basketball, so for him to come and cement his name in the history books at Vermont Tech is remarkable."
Unity College showed great class and used halftime to acknowledge Shaw's accomplishment. Vermont Tech will honor Jeremiah before the game against Great Bay CC this Saturday.
