Men's Soccer Expecting a Successful Season
Randolph Center, VT- The Vermont Tech Men's Soccer Program starts the 2016 season returning eight players from last year's squad that posted an 8-9-1 record. Returning this season for the Knights and looking to better themselves from their previous season are Seniors Houston Cote (Bristol, VT), and Ali Alzamanan (Saudi Arabia). Junior Matt Brien (Colchester, VT), Hunter Brock (South Royalton, VT), along with Sophomores Phillip Hepburn (Milton, VT), Xavier Robitaille(Enosburg, VT).
The returners bring a core understanding of success to the Knights program and additions like Freshman Connor Strom (North Attleboro, Ma.), David Mattern (Chelsea, VT), Wyatt Kay (Chelsea, VT) and the rest of the new comers look to build on the success from the previous season. The Knights are looking to perform at a competitive level and reach many program goals set by Interim Head Coach Benjamin Wells, (Morrisville, VT) in his first season.
The Vermont Tech Knights were excited by their performance against Johnson State College (Johnson, VT) and Lyndon State College (Lyndon, VT) in their two preseason matches and are looking forward to travel to Maine to open their regular season contests with a pair of matches against Unity College on September 4th and Southern Maine Community College on September 5th, 2016. The Knight's host their first home contest on Thursday September 8th against St. Joseph's College (Rutland, Vermont) at 4:30pm. The Knights are looking forward to the upcoming season and hope to see many of you on the sidelines during the upcoming season.
